she got caught & the mess of eating

I caught Kerstyn tugging on these cords, and told her no. I can't really blame her - they're right there in front of her toy tempting her saying "pull me, tug me, get me". She is obsessed with cords and string - plug cords mostly!

The other pictures are of her after eating some applesauce sweet potatoes, and peaches. She is doing much better on solids foods, and has only had a reaction to carrots. After I reintroduced peaches and pears from the jar she has done fine!

Kerstyn's 9 month well visit

Yesterday Kerstyn and I went to her doctor appointment, and she was so happy! The nurse always loves on her and plays with her - Kerstyn always cracks up at her. She even took Kerstyn around with her while we were waiting to get her finger pricked - that wasn't fun!! I've been meaning to get pictures of Kerstyn with her doctor (Dr. Lipscombe) for a long time now, and just remembered to take my camera this time. I gave in and let her wear a new pair of her shoes we had gotton her for her birthday. I love them! They really allow her to not slide on the floor, and she in general has more control over standing and stuff.

She weighed 15 pounds 5 ounces, was 27 inches long and her head circumfrance was 42.5. She gained 1 pound 2.5 ounces since March 30th-so that's great! Her iron is a little low, and so she will be on a supplement for the next 3 months. All in all she is very healthy and happy! There are some things she is advanced on and some she is behind on - but no 2 babies are alike - so I dunno where they get that stuff from.

The pictures of Kerstyn with Dr. Lipscombe are not that great of her, and that's not her ear in the 1st one - it's the painting on the wall behind them. :) hahaha

Kerstyn's new onesie

This is Kerstyn's new oneisie that I had made it says "Want to feed me? Get permission first!" These pictures aren't that great because she was on the verdge of melting. :)

The reason for this is because of Kerstyn's sensitivities and allergic reactions to certain foods. We were at a birthday party about a month ago and someone tried to give her chocolate ice cream! :O Of course I freaked because she is currently allergic to dairy, and so this was my idea of stopping it from happening again. We really need to take her to an allergist soon, and the only one I've found on our insurance is at Children's Hospital in Dallas. Yucko! I hate Dallas traffic! So, when we have the money we will be traveling down there for some tests to see exactly what she is allergic to and what she has sensitivities to.

Our visit with Daniel

While in Colorado we met Daniel about a month after we moved there. He was taking an extended visit, and stayed there for about 6 months. So, he was there about as long as I was - lol! Jason did end up being there about 9 months. Anyway, he is an awesome friend, and someone we will stay in touch with forever!! He has come to see us twice since we've lived in Sherman :). He is currently going to school in Orlando to do film/producing work, and came to Texas with a friend from school. His family lives in Fort Worth, and so his home is in Texas also. Kerstyn was excited to see a new face, and took to him very well. She is surprising us in how well she actually does with strangers. We had a wonderful time visiting with our great friend!

patty cake, patty cake...

Kerstyn loved playing patty cake with Aunt Tonya! I didn't even know the whole song (bad, bad mommy), and so Tonya was teaching me too. We stopped to take a break and have some snacks and cold drinks under the shade, and Kerstyn was getting a little fussy until Tonya went over and played with her. She is such a little cutie! Oh, and that's a picture of the cute monkeys they had at the zoo.

zoo time

We went to the Gainsville Zoo with Aunt Tonya, Danielle and cousin Aden yesterday. This was Kerstyn and Aden's 2nd time to this zoo - although they both slept through the 1st time in October. Unfortunately Aden hadn't had a nap all day and was a little grouchy, and Kerstyn was allright as long as she was moving in the stroller. I had to walk around and around the benches with her so she wouldn't get upset. After the zoo we went on a train ride around the park, and that's when Aden passed smooth out! Kerstyn did end up taking a little cat nap on the way home, and slept wonderfully last night!!! Then, on our way home I drove to Denison to see if the bluebonnets had spread anymore.We ended up getting out at the dam and walking through the sand, and Danielle and Aden put their feet in the water. We got a little sun, a little excersize, a little sight seeing, some great family time and had lots of fun.

I'm 9 months old!!!

Today Kerstyn and I went to the Denison library for story and play time. It was pretty crazy because of being Easter weekend, but it was still fun. Kerstyn was the only baby there, but they reassured me that babies do come. She will earn a book for every 2 visits we attend. She crawled all around, and went up to total strangers - so at least I know she's not afraid. She played in the puppet house, and with the puppets, and kept trying to play with another little girl - but she just kept wanting to step on Kerstyn, and was kinda rough - I don't think she knew she was real. Anyway, we had a great time, and will deffinately be going back.

I can't believe 9 months ago today - right now - she was born! WOW - she was crying her little head off at this time 9 months ago. She is growing up so fast, and changing every single day.

I meant to post this before the other one, but oh well. This is Kerstyn kinda laughing - you really have to listen at the beginning. She is so obsessed with the camera, and thinks it's taking her picture even when it's not - so she wouldn't do too much after she discovered she was being watched.

I'm 9 months old!!! Serenity now!!!

Kerstyn's been holding her hands up like she is saying "serenity now", and it's too funny! I finally got an ok picture of it, but still not a great one. :)

Unfortunately, when she was playing in her toy box she fell over into it. She kinda tetertotered on her belly, and then went booty up into the toys. She was okay - only one of the many of falling downs to come. :)

daily happenings

Yesterday I was putting up Kerstyn's clothes, and she decided she wanted to play with the laundry basket. I thought it would be safer to just put her in it, but she still managed to tip over. I was going through her closet and found a brush and tooth brush in her saftey first kit - well she thinks the tooth brush is so great! I guess she likes the way it feels against her gums.

This is how I found Kerstyn just now after she was in her room fussin a little bit before finally falling asleep! Obviouslly, she was sitting up, and just passed out! I just had to post it!!! :)

MONKEY!

That's what Jason calls Kerstyn. She is climbing all over everything she can get her hands on. I'm in for some trouble with this little monkey!!! Now, I believe what her doctor said about her possibly walking by 10 months!
